The first celebration of World Press Freedom Day in the Maldives saw the launch of the South Asia Press Freedom Report 2018–19 (produced by the IFJ with UNESCO’s support). A regional panel was also organized with leading journalists, media think tanks and media training institutes from the Maldives, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka. The launch was preceded by an inaugural session.
